As a NC Pre-k provider for Harnett county we provide provide high-quality educational experiences to enhance school readiness for eligible four-year-old children. It is designed to help prepare children for kindergarten through a creative curriculum-based, classroom style learning environment. The goal of NC Pre-K is to reach at- risk children and give them a chance to grow socially and educationally before entering kindergarten. NC Pre-K is a Division of Child Development and Early Education in the NC Department of Health and Human Services program and is funded by the state of North Carolina. NC Pre-K is free to eligible families.
The NC Pre-K standards are built on the premise that in order to be successful academically in school, children need to be prepared in all five of the major domains of development: Health and physical development Social and emotional development Language development and communication Cognition and general knowledge Approaches toward learning To meet these standards, the Harnett County NC Pre-K program requires the use of Creative Curriculum, a state approved curriculum for pre-kindergarten.
